This portfolio is on the theme “Web board” — an internet site where people from around the world gathering together and use the platform to share and discuss their interests on-line. I use website pantip.com as my design reference as it is popular Thai web board and also is one of the top 10 websites in Thailand and 712 worldwide.

In this website, I have attempted to represent myself as one of the topics on web board’s thread and illustrate some of the fondest times I have had in my lifetime in the form of comment section, since the real web board is being used as a forum for sharing people experience.

I am much obliged to my parents, my teachers and also my friends that involved in encouraging and supporting me.

I hope this portfolio will allow you to know my identity, my ability and my passion to study in ICI.

Preface

What Makes Me, Me?
What makes me, me?

Taking you back to 18 years ago, There was a happy girl in an average middle-class family in Bangkok. Her parents named her "Ryu" to represent their love combination from the first letter of their name. 4 years later, her little sister "Rin" was born. From that day, the girl learns how to have sympathy and how to love others. Our family lived an ordinary life up until 2008.

After living in Bangkok for 7 years, her father decided to leave his work and reach his dream in the field of agriculture in Northeast prefecture, Korat. Her mother, sister and she moved into grandma’s house in the same prefecture. This event marks the beginning of her life outside the capital city. For that reason, She attends a public school located around 10 minutes away from home. Changing an environment caused her to question the differences between her old and new environment. Why are people here so approachable? Why did she have to have her hair cut?  the girl was just wondering...

I have to change for the better!

She feels like every day of her life is a cycle of going to school, learning, going home, doing homework, having dinner, and sleeping. Her life is not bad, she thinks it's just boring! One day, she realized that she lost her way of life. At that moment, she knew she has to see the outside world. She believed that there are many things waiting for her to discover out there.

Since then, she has tried her best to study as much as she can in order to pass the entrance exam for one of the most famous schools in capital cityTriam Udom Suksa School. She chose to study in Japanese major because of her interest. At her new school. She has opportunities to do everything that has never been done before in her life. Such as writing a book with her classmates. This time, she had a chance to use her photography skill as a book cover.

Bangkok! I'm back!

I'm an introvert.. but this is REAL fun!!

This school offered a bunch of opportunities for her. One of her life-changing points is when she decided to get out of her comfort zone. She auditioned for the Public speaking club at her school. Fortunately, she passed the audition! In this club, She had her communication skills develop. Furthermore, with her photography skills, She got an opportunity to use her photograph as an annual club magazine's cover again.

Trust me! I can do it!

She spent most of her time in 10 grade with the School Activities. A year later, In annual committee election event, she got selected from the committee member to be "Art Leader" in 2018

Surprisingly, this reinforced her self-esteem a lot! She hasn't expected to get selected before. She ends up falling in love with this place. Hard work paid off, school gave her a certificate of benefit as an award.

I think I found a place where I belong ... :)

After getting out of her comfort zone, she joined almost every activity provided by the school. She doesn't want to stop developing herself. Sometimes she may be disappointed with rejection, but life has its ups and downs. Finally, She joined her school’s committee. She got many skills and experiences from here, such as Teamwork skills, Digital literacy, Presentation...

One thing I know, and that’s that

I know nothing

Human Rights is the basic issue which people should focus on, but some people ignore it because he/she thinks it's too far from their life. If we don't pay attention to this issue, It’s likely that we will end up supporting the violation of Human Rights without knowing.

In this class, there are some alumni who are directly studying this issue help us to learn more about Human Rights. Using the Socratic method, arguments would be based on asking and discussing. This program expands her vision a lot.

We still have hope

The education system is a fundamental issue that has been prominent in this country perpetually. More importantly, education is the basis of society. Whether it is the social environment in the school or the academic teaching, they all have an immense effect on students’ lives and their view of the world. Having studied at various schools, in the capital city, out of town, or even abroad, she recognized the importance and effects of the education system in people’s lives.

Once in Japan

In 2019, She got a partial scholarship to study abroad in Japan, the country she found attractive. Her parents supported her education and let her go study there. She got Japanese language skills and experiences studying abroad. The most important thing, however, is the precious friendship she got. It’s the proof that intercultural relationship can flourish despite the language barrier.

Taiwanese Friends!!

There are many of precious and memorable things happened in her exchange year. She also had a oppotunity to know many International Students, most of them come from Taiwan.

Including "LU En-Jia", 16-year-old girl from Taipei, one of her closest friends. She is her roommate and also classmate at

Shimizu Gaoka High School during the exchange year. She had learned lots of Mandarin Chinese words and often exchanged opinion about their own cultures. This impressed her a lot about Taiwan.

She once had an opportunity to talk about the university in their home country with her Taiwanese roommate and discovered ICI, a program that she had never seen anywhere else before. With her curious and answer-seeking mind, She aspires to study here. It has become her pursuit ever since. With exceptional academic capability and facilities, International College of Innovation is an outstanding place to study in her aspect.

The ways to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all

She has always been a curious individual, questioning the world around her. She often finds herself thinking of solutions to the current global problems. Her friend might see potential in her, so she invited her to join "Young Thai for Sustainable Development Assembly (YSDA)" in academic affairs. She has joined many workshops here and most of activites are learning and discussing about the solution to solve problems in Thailand, based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Working here is very supportive for her to persue her dream to make an positive impact to the society.

My Skills
My Skills & Goals

I am confident in my ability to utilize technology to its fullest as well as my ability to communicate in 3 languages—Thai, English and Japanese and still have the will to learn other languages in the future . On top of that, my ability to cooperate creativity into my works whether it be drawing, photography, or storytelling, would surely be useful in the future. Furthermore, I am confident in my hope and passion to make our society move in a better direction.

Until now, I have been through quite a lot of things in 18 years of my life. But life is about learning and exploring, and I still have many things left to do. One of the most important things is to consider my path of life or, in other words, to think about my job. Almost everyone has their dream - what they passionately want to chase in the future or the goals that they want to achieve before they die. It is up to their perspective and destination. But for me, a girl who is still not sure what exactly does she want to do in the future, I think it is kind of complicated for young adults to understand themselves under huge expectation from society to know themselves.

Not to mention how arduous it is for them to have a chance to give each job a try to ensure that this is what they really want to do.

However, something I am fond of myself is that I profoundly know "What kind of person I want to be in the future". I want to be a better version of myself compared to the previous day. Although I do not have a long-term goal to reach yet. I think at least it is fine for me to have a short-term goal instead. It does not mean I have already given up on finding a long-term goal. I still want to keep searching for it until I know for sure, even if that might take some time. I am sure that one day I will know what job I want to do and the first step toward that path for me is joining ICI.

I believe that this program will lead me to the best version of myself in the future. I see many opportunities that will broaden my horizons by meeting new people from all over the world as this is international program. I will face new challenges and making use of the huge range of new activities, clubs and societies on offer from National Chengchi University. Especially, I heard that in this program I can take part of my course overseas, That would be great chance to learn new things, experience there will contribute to my passion to change the world. It would be really appreciate if I will be considered as one of outstanding candidates and finally become a student in ICI.
